The image shows the Privy Seal of Owain Glyndwr, the acclaimed Prince of Wales who called its first Parliament. Owain Glyndwr had the benefit of advice from one of the great lawyers of Welsh legal history, Gruffudd Yonge.

A Canon Lawyer, Gruffudd Yonge’s contribution as an international and constitutional lawyer set the standard to which Cambria Chambers aspires. Gruffudd Yonge had custody of the Seal of Owain Glyndwr.

The original Seal is to be found in the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. The image is of the Seal as it would have appeared before being worn and damaged by use. We are grateful to Henry Jones-Davies, founder and designer of Cambria” Magazine, for his skilful “restoration” and for his inspiration in the service of Wales.

How We Work

Cambria Chambers are traditional in that we consist of individual barristers who have adhered to a written constitution. Each individual barrister is regulated by the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales. They accept instructions from solicitors and those who enjoy Licensed Access.

Cambria Chambers are progressive in that many Counsel have been licensed to conduct litigation or to accept clients by Direct Access.

We take full advantage of the speed offered by modern digital services Including electronic payment. We understand that clients require fast responses, and we will respond With an acknowledgment during the working day when we receive the request, and With a full response as soon as possible allowing for night-time, and the court commitments of Counsel.

Counsel who conduct litigation or accept clients by Direct Access require the support of paralegals who liaise with clients, work with them to provide the paperwork which Counsel will need, arrange for Counsel to advise or appear in Court. Cambria paralegals also prepare documents and bundles for Court subject to supervision by Counsel.

Cambria paralegals have particular experience in certain fields of litigation. This allows their assistance to clients and Counsel to be better focussed, and faster.
